Pregnancy Hacks for Moms with Toddlers: How to Survive (and Sometimes Thrive) While Pregnant with Littles at Home

Pregnant… and parenting toddlers? Whew. It’s a wild ride, isn’t it? You’re growing a human and keeping small people alive—all while running on less sleep, more snacks, and a whole lot of grace.

This is my fourth pregnancy, and for the first time, I’ve got a full house of littles while navigating the aches, exhaustion, and hormones. It’s beautiful, yes—but also a lot. So today I’m sharing my favorite pregnancy hacks for moms with toddlers—realistic tips that have helped me survive (and even enjoy) this season.

Whether you’re in the first trimester or entering the final stretch, here are some simple ways that I’ve found to make life easier.

1. Easy Snacks + Meals (Because Cooking Is… a Lot)

Some days I love being in the kitchen. Other days I just need to get food on the table and move on. These quick, easy meals for pregnant moms and kid-friendly snacks are saving me right now:

Quick Snacks:

  • String cheese + fruit (if you have an Aldi near you they always have fun snacking cheeses to try!)
  • Greek yogurt pouches (if you don’t love the ingredient list, you can make your own. I use these pouches and this recipe. Also how did I not know about THISSSSSS! Game changer if you’re making your own pouches at home.)
  • Nut butter or jam toast or rice cakes
  • Hard-boiled eggs or even scramble some eggs
  • Apple slices with peanut butter
  • Hummus + crackers or carrots
  • Energy bites (make ahead and freeze!)

No-Fuss Meals:

  • Rotisserie chicken + frozen veggies + rice
  • Quesadillas with shredded cheese + beans or leftover meat
  • Pasta with butter, peas, and parmesan
  • Breakfast-for-dinner (eggs, toast, fruit)
  • Freezer-friendly crockpot meals (check out my full list of freezer meals for postpartum [here])

Pregnancy tip: Always keep 1–2 shelf-stable fallback meals in your pantry or freezer for days when nausea, fatigue, or toddler chaos wins.

2. Toddler Activities That Let You Rest

You don’t have to be the cruise director all day. These low-energy toddler activities let you rest on the couch while your littles play nearby—no shame in quiet play when you’re in survival mode.

3. Grace-Filled Routines When Energy Is Low

Your energy won’t be the same every day—and that’s okay. The key to surviving pregnancy with toddlers? Simple routines and flexibility.

My Go-To Low-Energy Routine:

  • Morning: Breakfast, read-aloud or short Bible time, one 5–10 min clean-up
  • Mid-morning: Outdoor time or an activity bin
  • Lunch: Easy meal + screen time if needed
  • Afternoon: Quiet time, nap, or a show
  • Evening: Simple dinner, clean-up, and early bedtime

These are the routines keeping me grounded through pregnancy fatigue with toddlers.

Grace Notes:

  • You’re not doing it wrong if you skip something.
  • Frozen waffles and Daniel Tiger count as survival tools.
  • Your rest matters too, mama.

Final Thoughts on Pregnancy Hacks for Moms with Toddlers

If you’re in the thick of pregnancy while raising toddlers, I just want to say: you are doing an incredible job. This season might be messy and exhausting, but it’s also sacred. Give yourself permission to rest, ask for help, and skip the extras that don’t serve you.

You’re not behind—you’re growing life.
