I recently started my own Pinterest Management business, and it has been such a crazy and fun whirlwind so far with lots of learning and trial and error, to be honest.
It has been such a crazy experience to have the courage to start my own business, but that’s another post for another day!
My biggest advice to anybody who is going to be starting their own business is to get your systems and tools in place BEFORE you start because right now I am trying to take on clients, figure out what tools I like to use, putting systems in place, and trying to figure out how to manage a house, run a business, raise a child, continue to date my hubs, and find time for myself.
Now that it’s been a little bit though, I have found a couple of my favorite tools for my service-based business and wanted to share in case anyone else is in the process of figuring out their service-based business.
1. Honeybook
I LOVE HoneyBook. Like seriously, I was trying to write my contracts, take payments, keep in contact with my clients, send questionnaires, basically do all the things separately. In walks…HoneyBook. Everything you would want in CRM software is accessible online and in one space. My favorite thing is the fact that my clients can upload anything from logos to brand colors in their client portal and get the status of their project all in one place.
I’ve gotten great feedback from my clients on HoneyBook, and will forever be an advocate for them.
Plus, it’s very affordable at a whopping $9/month for all of that goodness.

2. QuickBooks
For basic accounting, QB is my absolute fav. It allows me to connect my bank account, categorize my spending, get paid, and pay quarterly taxes (hint–no surprises at Tax time!) through them. They have a great and detailed email walk-through process, and the customer support is amazing. Pretty Basic, but hey. It’s one of those pesky business things you need to do when running your own business!

3. Asana
I currently use the free version of Asana, and I LOVE it. The best part is that if I ever need to outsource or hire someone, my workflows, projects, personal content- IG, Blog, etc. is all planned in one place. I used to use Trello (honorable mention), but for me, Asana is something that just works better with my brain.
And there you have it. If you are a service-based business owner or considering starting a service-based business– you got this.
