Things To Do With Toddlers In DFW: Founders Plaza

If you’re visiting DFW (Dallas/Fort Worth, TX) or you live in DFW with toddlers, there is a good chance at one point or another you’ve typed into Google “things to do with toddlers in DFW”.

Well, if your toddlers are anything like mine, then they probably LOVE airplanes in which case I have the perfect (and free!) place you need to take your toddlers! Plus, if you’re planning on traveling with toddlers I think this is a great way to introduce them to airplanes up close.

Before I go much further– Who is Sid?

Hey there! I’m Sidnee, a mom to three crazy littles three and under—life is absolutely chaotic in the best way possible. By day, you’ll find me momming and in the inbetweens I’m a blogger and Pinterest marketer, sharing insights on lifestyle and motherhood, or helping life-first biz owners navigate the world of online business and marketing.

I’m on a journey to keep the spark alive in my marriage, grow as a Proverbs 31 woman, get in the best shape of my life, and—let’s be honest—trying to avoid dressing like Adam Sandler every day (even though comfy clothes are oh-so-tempting!).

When I’m not chasing after my little ones or working on my blog, I dream of homesteading and living off the grid. But I also have a soft spot for those late-night Pinterest scrolls. It’s all about finding the balance, right?

Founders Plaza: Fun Things To Do With Toddlers In DFW

Founder’s Plaza is on the North side of the  DFW airport. It’s a cute little park where you can go and watch the planes take off and land!  It’s clean  with shade and picnic tables, educational displays about airplanes, and binoculars to make viewing so much easier!

Parking is free, which makes this a super inexpensive outing with your littles.

However, if you can, I highly recommend making a morning out of it and grabbing breakfast (we picked up from First Watch about 6 minutes away from the airport) so that you can eat while watching the planes land/take off. It’s also not as crowded in the mornings.

One of the coolest part was that you could actually hear the communication from the flight tower and the pilot coming in to land.

My plane-loving kiddos (and husband) absolutely loved this, and we will definitely be back!

The Spark Note Version of Taking Littles to Founders Plaza:

Location: 1700 N Airfield Dr, Grapevine, TX 76051

Cost: Freeeee!!!

Hours: 7am-7pm

Additional Notes: While I wouldn’t say we needed them, my daughter at first was very glad she had ear protection. It’s not super loud, but if your child is sensitive to loud noises then maybe bring some, just in case! We have a pair of these for all three kids  and they work great.

If you’re anything like me, sometimes it’s so hard to get out and about with the littles. But, finding these gems of places that they absolutely love and talk about for days after (we’ve been chatting about it for weeks since we went!!).

Now, I would love to hear from you. Do you want more reviews/ideas of places to take your littles in DFW? Let me know in the comments!
